THE WORKSHOP

This page keeps you updated on what's going on in the shop and what models are coming up next. All the pictures below are from what I'm working on right now. I added this page so I won't have to edit the construction page continuously. As better construction shots become available they will gradually replace the older ones on the construction page.

I am now back to starting on a new model, another top grade 1907 Berger guillotine. This one will be going to the UK... It will again be the highest quality model I can build. The first pictures show what has been done so far: the mechanism with the overlapping claws, the cast bronze lunette mechanism, the steel mouton with cast bronze rollers and the Swiss-made, razor sharp, tempered steel blade.
Added 04/15/08: Posts with spring brackets. Blade tracks with 28 drilled holes for #0-80 screws. The real tracks were held by 90 screws!
Added 05/2/08: Springs and tracks installed on posts. Post hinge details. Frame tension rod details.
Added 05/12/08: Post crossbrace, lunette tracks and release mechanism, brass-lined lunette, mouton and blade.
Added 05/13/08: Mechanism installed, hinged cover plate w/lock pin, spike on mouton.
Added 05/23/08: Pulley, main release lever.
Added 06/04/08: C-Brace, T-braces, bascule assembly and support, body basket.
Added 06/29/08: Head Tub, folding shield, finished body basket, finished parts.
