THE GUIDOTINE

This is a bit of a different model: In 2006, my friend Guido Varesi asked me to help him build a full size copy of a Berger guillotine for his museum. Over the next two years, I made the detailed drawings while Guido and his crew of carpenters and machinists took the drawings and turned them into real parts. Below are the results: The "Guidotine", 1300 Lbs of oak, steel and brass. A bit over 4 meters in height and fully functional it really gives the idea of what Mr Deibler apparatus felt like. Short of having a real guillotine to "play with" this is about as realistic as it gets. The pictures are taken in Sissach and Basel, Switzerland.
